Classic poker moment.

More DO and less VIEW

February 27th, 2009

I’m getting in a bad habit. I spend way more time out of my day reading forums, reading blogs, viewing chats, surfing sites than I do working on my own network of sites. I agree it’s very valuable to learn and soak in as much information as you can in this competitive affiliate industry. But there comes a point you have to put all that aside and just take action on what you have learned. I spend countless hours reading the forums at PAL and the forums at GPWA. That usually leads me to reading and browsing blogs of different users from those forums. Then I’ll spend time cleaning up and reading my Google Reader feeds. Followed by emails and responding to some of those. By the time this is done - it feels like I just start over. NEVER DO ANY WORK!

So this has to stop.  How?  Well, I need to schedule when I do this stuff.  Like twice a day or something.  How do all of you protect yourself and your time from to much VIEWING and not enough DOING?

Why poker sucks sometimes

This is classic.  Great little video to give you some poker humor for the day.  Warning: Language not suitable for work/kids  :)

Blog about your passions

January 10th, 2009

Last night I was listening to some of the archived Affiliate Life Radio shows with Jeremy Enke and Brandon Berndt.  They brought up a great point about building sites in this industry.  Basically, even though it’s about making money for the most part - be sure you build a site or run a site about one of your passions.  I do this a lot.  I have tons of sports websites and celebrity websites.  Those are my passions.  The problem is, they aren’t real profitable.  I’m diving into the gambling niche for one reason and one reason only, money. I’ll admit that blogging for and promoting a site that you have a passion for makes it way easier to do because it’s fun.  I tried my hand at loans, mortgages, credit, etc. in the past with no success. Why?  Because I just didn’t care about these topics and didn’t give the sites the proper attention.  So why will my gambling network be any different?  Well, for one - I know gambling.  I won’t say I have a passion for it - but I know it.  I know the ins and outs of sports betting, poker and a little bit about casinos.  Wish me luck as I move away from my passion sites a little bit and diversify here into the poker world.

First goal set

January 7th, 2009

I know there are probably no readers on this blog yet.  But that’s ok.  It’s really for me.  A place for me to start out with my gambling internet marketing venture.  So I have finally set my first 2-3 goals.  These goals should be accomplished by the end of January 2009.

  1. I must make my first Poker room conversion - ever - this month.  I don’t care how I do it or what site it’s from.  If I do not get one conversion this month, I might as well quit.
  2. I must have wave 1 of sites designed, layed out, cleaned up, and base content out on them.

So that’s it.  Easy enough.

A couple forums in the industry

August 10th, 2008

Since I am fairly new to this industry I’m just starting to compile some of the best “affiliate” related forums in the poker, sports betting and online casino space.  A couple that I’ve found extremely helpful so far are:

Poker Affiliate Forums (PAF)

and

Casino Affiliate Programs (CAP)

I know there are probably hundreds - but any other key ones I just have to frequent?

Can I become a Gambling Super Affiliate

August 8th, 2008

So what is a Gambling Super Affiliate and who are some of the key players?  Well, a Gambling Super Affiliate is one that makes a full time income from gambling related websites.  They promote gambling offers and get a kickback of all rake/earnings/juice from the site promoted.  Is there an exact dollar amount that makes you a “super affiliate”.  Well, no, but my number is $2000 a month and you are a super affiliate.  This is $2000 a month from only poker, casino, and sports betting affiliate programs.  I am striving to go from a basic affiliate to a “SUPER” affiliate (cheesy I know) in 6 months.

So who are some of these super affiliates in this industry?  Anyone?  Would love to hear from you or start a list of these types of Super Affiliate personalities!

From $0 to $2000 in 6 month

August 6th, 2008

So is it possible in this wild world of gambling affiliate programs to go from making $0 per month to $2000 per month in 6 months?  Well, this is my challenge to myself.  I’m going to develop, write, promote and sell the heck out of my sites over the next 6 months.  Starting from scratch I challenge myself to be making $2000 a month on pure Gambling affiliate programs by February 1st, 2008.  Anyone want to join this ride?  It’s going to take a LOT of time, some money and key knowledge to make this goal a reality.  But in the end, $2000 per month is not that much when you are talking Poker Rooms and Online Casinos.  Find a few of the right players and I am well on my way.  So where to really start?  Well, the plan is almost in place and I’ll start to execute!

Gambling sites and where it started

August 5th, 2008

My online gambling site experience began back several years ago with a site called RAKE-IT-IN.  A buddy and I had huge hopes of making this the “next big thing”.  Well, it never happened.  We developed the site and had some sweet features that are unlike any other sports betting site on the planet.  But we failed at marketing and advertising.  A great site doesn’t do much if you can’t promote it, get traffic, and monetize it.  So, we kind of let it die.

Now a year or so later - I got that itch again and this time it’s personal.  I’m planning on revamping RAKE-IT-IN to be the master gambling portal of poker, casino and sports betting information.  RAKE-IT-IN will have reviews, bonus codes, tips, betting system managers, free picks and much much more.  With the right promotion I think this site could make some huge money.

Then on top of that I plan on having a bunch of satellite sites (I guess that’s what you call them) or mini-sites that have content and point users back to RAKE-IT-IN.  I’ve already created a few of them in:

For you experienced guys - don’t laugh at these as they are just the starts of a site. Nothing monetized yet at all.  That will come.  I’m putting together a plan and will document that plan here at knupMONEY for how I’m going to bring this portion of my online empire to the next level.  So enjoy the ride.
